How We Use Your Information
We use your information to process and deliver your orders, detect your delivery address automatically using GPS location, show nearby stores and available delivery zones, send order status updates and push notifications, improve our website and app functionality, and communicate with you regarding your orders.
Location Data (Customer App)
Our customer app collects your device precise or approximate location data to enable delivery features, including auto-detecting your delivery address and showing nearby stores. Location data is collected only when you grant permission and is used solely to facilitate order delivery. You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.
Delivery Personnel Location Data (Jain Grocer Delivery App)
For the Jain Grocer Delivery App used by our registered delivery personnel, we collect the following additional location data:
- Precise Location in Background: When a delivery person marks themselves "Online" (on duty), the app collects their precise device location continuously, including in the background and when the app is closed or not in active use.
- Purpose: Background location data is collected only while the delivery person is on active duty (Online status). It is used solely for the following purposes:
- Sharing the delivery person's live location with the customer who placed the order, so the customer can track their delivery in real time
- Sharing the delivery person's location with the Jain Grocer store to monitor active deliveries
- Calculating routes and estimated arrival time to the customer's address
- Auto-updating delivery status as the delivery progresses
- Data Sharing: The delivery person's live location is shared with the customer and the store only while the delivery person is on duty. Location sharing stops automatically when the delivery person toggles "Offline".
- User Control: The delivery person can revoke location permission at any time through their device settings or by going offline in the app. The app uses a foreground service notification to indicate when location tracking is active.
- Foreground Service: The Jain Grocer Delivery App uses an Android foreground service to maintain location tracking reliability during active deliveries. A persistent notification is shown to the delivery person while location tracking is active.
Data Security
All payments are processed through secure payment gateways. All data transmission between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/SSL. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information.
Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except as required for order processing, delivery, payment processing, and live delivery tracking between the customer, delivery person, and store.
